I love my work because it revolves around two things i love social(people, interactions) and technology.

and because it exposes to me a lot of continuous learning it gets me off my butt like one minute, I’m analysizing metrics the other I’m engaging with content and researching!

but let's face it there something we all hate about social media and if you you are like me a certain dissatisfaction results in withdrawal.

  1. Not following every trend yes, its trending but it might not be from my audience or will divert them from the strong community. I always narrow down the trends to content in line with my audience’s interest.
  2. General posting time you know how all these internet gurus be like so and so is the best time to post. Now let me tell you there’s no thing as best time to post. Well, before you roll your eyes or roast me. READ AND READ CAREFULLY! Your audience determines what time you publish content for example a construction company can’t follow a fashion brand.

Here’s why picture two client profile.

NATASHA and CHILESHE one is chef and the other an accountant one checks her phone on lunch time and before going to work, the other checks her phone immediately after doing all her work say before bedtime or while on her way home.

From this as a social media manager i will consider putting up content as early as 6–8 am and from 12am-1pm. Probably a minimum of 3 posts.

and for a construction their audience include industrial and domestic based most likely to see content on weekends or lunchbreak. These are naturally in line with a corporate audience often busy so a minimum of 1–2 posts from 3pm-10pm content will do.

post in line with your audience’s nature AKA demographics. Discard the best time to post with best active audience time.

3.Letting A.i do all the thinking and work.

yes, they are faster and effective but what about the expertise you are trying to develop. What I do is lead the tools with my own ideas and plus content and audience lie on emotions A.I can’t do that always tailor the result to meet your audience’s emotions.

4.WORKING LONG HOURS

productivity doesn’t mean 6+ straight hours working .you know robots go like ABORT! so does your productivity. Your eyes need to relax, your fingers too and body. Mostly important your mind. Take breaks my working routine looks like

4 hours broke down into 30mins with 5 minutes break! I use the breaks to stretch, hydrate or just be idle lol meditating about nothing! Know when your concentration span gets low and rest.

5.Working for the sake of working.

don’t just write for the sake of it or submitting your project meet deadline. Enjoy what you do when you enjoy whatever you do excellence follows. It wont just be about the results but about the environment you created and each time you hear writing a report you’ll be on cloud9 because you’ll enjoy the writing process, the doc layout format will be you expressing creativity or should i say being creative and the thing about metric reporting is there’s always something new.

Even though you aren’t a media manager this applies to how you manage your social media planforms.

happy social media usage!
